Charity St. George's Crypt's annual appeal is designed to raise money for the homeless. The 2007 brief to B&W Studio was to communicate how the money is spent and how the charity's clients benefit from the donations as well as updating donors on the previous year's activities. Direct messaging and the bold use of high-contrast yellow and black were chosen to ensure the piece would really stand out.
A recycled paper stock was chosen for its lightweight quality—a practical choice to help keep postage costs down. plastic mailing-bag houses four A3 (297 x 420mm; 11 3/4 x 16 1/5in) calendar posters, one for each season, folded to make a 16-page loose-leaf brochure. The final touch—a free badge bearing the charity's logo—gives the overall feel of a mailer with added extras.
