Robert Horne Shout awards Design Project

Joe brought in the shout awards robert horne book which featured winning designs. The design by design project again shows an interesting scale and layout which just showcases the winning work but to a very high standard. The layout is simple and not distracting and the designs are printed on robert horne stock showcasing thier differrnt stocks at the same time.

Signs and Wonders V&A Spin

The layout of the brochure is unquie amd different in theory it dosent work yet it works very well your eye reads down the page yet thewhen your eye reads down the page you want to read more as it is arranged out of teh grid this strange grid in different coluns runs throughout the page contrasting with different paper stocks which is something to consider with the year book. The idea of this something i need to expolt more and test aand ppush boundaries with i need to more risky and playfyl within my layout.

Year book research- Graphic thought facility

Royal College of Art
Prospectus

1997 and 1998
Drawing on the institution’s strong media presence, the activities of each department are represented by photocopied press cuttings.
The highly detailed and colourful illustrations achieved a neat reversal of the usual hierarchy between photographic and illustrative material.

My Opinion
The prospectus pushes the form of ordinary prospectuses. The idea shown shows elements of old and new but contrasts experimental playful idea with ann element of sophistication. yet I don't feel that it is overall very appealing i feel that it is played upon that because it is the royal college of art you can be playful yet in another institution that may not have such a high profile as royal college of art it may question if you are abel to get away with such a risky idea.
